The collision occurred in Hartford County around 11:20 p.m., Monday, June 10, in the northbound lane south of Exit 38 in Windsor.
According to Connecticut State Police, Jonathan Scott Schlagel, of Enfield, was driving a 2000 Triumph Sprint RS when he hit the rear of a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500.
Schlagel was ejected from the motorcycle, state police said. He was then struck by a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV that was behind the pickup truck and the motorcycle.
State police said Schlagel suffered injuries "not compatible with life" and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup driver was not injured; the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries, state police said.
This case remains under investigation.
